The Best Of Jamaica, All For You

When you think of Jamaica, you probably think of swimming in gorgeous tropical beaches, rocking to groovy reggae music, and sampling spicy jerk dishes. The vibe and beauty of this tropical island offers an adventurous while still a laid-back lifestyle. To get you started, we’ve gathered the best of Jamaica for you to explore.

Why Vacation in Jamaica?

There’s no place quite like the land of wood and water. The astounding beauty and diversity of the landscape paired with the welcoming smiles and colorful language of the people keep visitors enthralled with Jamaica. This is the place to visit when you want to reset, recharge, and relax. This is also the place to visit when you’re in search of adventure and romance and non-stop fun.

The Best Experiences

There are some things you can only experience in Jamaica . Taste the spiced rums, learn the dialect, and try out the dances as they make their way onto the streets. The sway of your hips as the steady beat of the reggae drums pulsate through you is something that just feels sensationally different in Jamaica.

The Best Events

In Jamaica, you can catch that zen vibe as you immerse yourself into a wellness retreat that often features yoga and meditation, farm fresh food, amazing sunsets, and good vibes only. You can also attend events to check out the best in Caribbean fashion or island-style weddings.

Festivals abound with an outstanding array of food festivals, literary festivals, and, of course, music festivals. And, as the home of the fastest man in the world, you do have a number of sporting events that may delight you as well.

The Best Food

An ode to Jamaican food: The food is spicy, the food is sweet, foodies can’t get enough of you to eat! Your appetite will be delighted with the array of Jamaican food you absolutely have to try. From fresh seafood prepared right on the beach to the succulent fall-off-the-bone oxtail served up everywhere from cozy corner cookshops to gourmet brasseries, your tastebuds will dance with glee from each Jamaican bite.

It’s a common sight to see fresh tropical fruit and island delicacies like peppered shrimp and candies made from peanuts and coconuts being sold right on the streets. Stop and take a bite of something special that you won’t soon forget.

Montego Bay

A tropical paradise with white-sand beaches, emerald-green and turquoise waters and activities galore, Montego Bay is the perfect place to do everything or do nothing and let your troubles drift away.

Dive at coral reefs in the protected waters of the Montego Bay Marine Park or float down a river on a bamboo raft. Sunbathe on Doctor’s Cave Beach or sip a frozen beverage poolside. Shop the open-air Harbour Street market and dine at local restaurants with menus ranging from traditional Jamaican cuisine, like jerk chicken, to the fresh catch of the day.

There are also three championship golf courses, tennis facilities and ample opportunities for watersports. When the sun goes down, explore the vibrant nightlife and sway to the rhythm of traditional Caribbean steel drums. From sprawling resort complexes to quaint, intimate hotels, there’s truly something for everyone in picturesque Montego Bay.

Negril

Located on Jamaica’s west end, the fun-filled resort area of Negril offers a peaceful place for those who want to wander off the beaten track and get away from it all. The town stretches out along 7 miles of uninterrupted, white-sand beach. In addition to numerous tourist attractions, a fun and active nightlife, and sightseeing opportunities, this tropical paradise is home to more watersports than you can possibly imagine – sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing, water trikes, and scuba diving, just to name a few. Nana knows the large resort hotels, as well as the smaller, more charming accommodations.

Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios is reached via the Montego Bay-Sangster International Airport or Kingston-Norman Manley International Airport, each offering comfortable transfers to your hotel. Resorts on the North Coast are between 40 and 75 minutes away; whereas hotels located farther east in Ocho Rios are a 2-hour ride away. Once there, you’ll immediately settle into the island way of life and where everything is “no problem.” The majority of the hotels in Ocho Rios and along the North Coast are all-inclusive or have an all-inclusive options. They are conveniently located near numerous shopping, restaurants, and nightlife options.
